'Practically Twisted' is the WordPress website I've maintained for years to share my writing and news about my online yoga classes and writing workshops.
McGuffey Art Center, Charlottesville, VA
McGuffey Art Center, located one block Charlottesville's Downtown Mall in a historic elementary school building, is one of the oldest artist-run cooperative art centers in the country. Since its establishment in 1975, the art center has been a community of artists, dedicated to practicing art and passing on the creative spirit to the greater Charlottesville community, through creating opportunities for increasing access to art for all.
Having just completed my Incubator residency at McGuffey's, I am proud to be one of McGuffey's new juried associate members. The artists within our community participate in varying ways to support McGuffey Art Center and the greater community's growth, through teaching classes and workshops, showcasing works in exhibitions, participating in and hosting events, and encouraging community outreach.
Woman Made Gallery, Chicago
Woman Made Gallery is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Woman Made Gallery is a space for women and nonbinary artists, including trans women and femme/feminine-identifying genderqueer artists. We welcome artists from our local community, regionally based, and around the world.
The Artisan Depot
I'm proud to be part of this charming gallery in Crozet. By joining the creative forces of over 80 artists, I'm part of a community that has items for almost any budget and a variety of aesthetics. Whether you are looking for a piece of fine art to display in your home or office, or a token of appreciation for a teacher, friend, or family member - I'm pretty sure you’ll find exactly what you need!
New City Arts Initiative
A dynamic art community in Charlottesville, with a gallery just off the Pedestrian Mall, I'm so happy to have found them and thrilled that they found me.
From their website: New City Arts Initiative (NCAI) brings together local creators and the local community to spark connection, inquiry, and social transformation. We resource artists to make and share their work and offer programs that welcome diverse audiences to have meaningful encounters with art. Founded in 2009 by members of the local faith community, NCAI honors art’s unique ability to connect people by speaking to deep human experiences. We function as a welcoming hub for people seeking those connections.
